An awesome country : Malaysia
Malaysia is an incredible destination, so much history, a must see for any travel enthusiast. The largest and oldest Chinese graveyard outside of China, Bukit Cina is the ancestral burial ground of Malacca’s Chinese community. Also known as Chinese Hill, it has more than 12,500 graves and these days the 20ha hill is primarily used as a jogging track. The burial ground’s fame began with the marriage of Sultan Mansur Shah of Malacca to the Ming emperor’s daughter, Princess Hang Liu.
This nature reserve borders an old Dutch colonial fort and the paddy fields of the old town of Sekinchan. Loved by history and nature lovers, many flock to this mangrove swamp to watch huge colonies of fireflies during the mating season, or to spot the elusive leopard and playful river otters. Famous for having one of the prettiest imitation villages outside of France, Bukit Tinggi is also known for Colmar Tropicale Resort, where visitors can experience a fairytale right here in Malaysia’s highlands, strolling through the extensive gardens or simply relaxing in one of its many restaurants in the beautiful town square. With the cool weather and beautiful architecture, this place is great for a weekend sight seeing trip full of peace and relaxation.
The islands are known for their nightlife and plenty of watersport, and yes a crowd of young backpackers. So, if you are considering a budget Malaysia tour, Perhentian Islands is the right place to be. There are a plenty of water activities like snorkeling and scuba diving to enjoy, and one can even try water sports like sea-kayaking. Apart from this, at Perhentian Islands also give one the chance to not only watch the sea turtles but also to volunteer to save and conserve them. For those who enjoy hiking, the islands also offer some great opportunity of jungle trekking and sighting big monitor lizards and large spiders between Long Beach and Coral Bay. You can also self-invite to a beach party at Bubu Long Beach resort for enjoying hanging out with other travellers and watching the locals perform.
A fascinating fusion of eastern and western influences, Penang is Malaysia’s most tourist-visited destination. The island manages to embrace modernity while retaining its colonial traditions; due to its well-preserved heritage buildings Penang’s capital, Georgetown, has been accorded a listing as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. Although Georgetown’s landscape is dominated by Chinese storefronts – most in need of a good paint job – there are also swanky shopping complexes, refurbished Chinese manors, rowdy pubs and artsy boutiques, cafes and studios. The Mulu Caves are located in the Gunung Mulu National Park in Malaysian Borneo. The park encompasses incredible caves and karst formations in a mountainous equatorial rainforest setting. The Sarawak chamber found in one of the underground caves is the largest cave chamber in the world. It has been said that the chamber is so big that it could accommodate about 40 Boeing 747s, without overlapping their wings. The enormous colony of Wrinkle-lipped bats in the nearby Deer Cave exit almost every evening in search of food in a spectacular exodus.
