With its astoundingly good voice acting, painterly environments, and item-based puzzle solving, you might think that Figment: Journey Into the Mind is an old-school point-and-click adventure game. And you wouldn’t be far off, except all of those fantastic elements have been molded into something more akin to an action RPG. It really is a nice blend of both genres in terms of gameplay, but taken as an overall package Figment is bursting with personality and an interesting world to explore, and has a level of polish that you don’t typically find on mobile. That’s probably due to Figment making its mark as a PC and console game first, but the mobile port sacrifices nothing and feels right at home on the go.

Attacking other players — whether in war or for loot — is another essential component of the game, and upgrading troops to the maximum level is important because it means they can do, and survive, more damage. Archers and barbarians are the easiest to upgrade and are described as “Tier 1” troops. Giants and wall breakers are “Tier 2” and so on. As you progress to higher Town Hall levels, upgrading troops becomes incredibly expensive. For example, a level three PEKKA, a giant, armoured unit, is eight million elixir — and that’s just at Town Hall 8.

Speed Run 4 is a classic quick-fire platformer game that’s perfect to play in short, lunchtime bursts. Once you cross the start line, you’re automatically placed in sprint mode and your goal is to, unsurprisingly, race through each of the 31 levels as quickly as possible. It’s simple, yes, but the level design is as eclectic as the soundtrack. One map might have you drifting across bright purple platforms to psychedelic trance, while the next might be plain white with, er, Coldplay’s Speed of Sound as your backing track – because why not? Don’t let this put you off, however: as is true with many Roblox games, Speed Run 4 comes into its own with friends. Storming through each level on your lonesome is fun enough, but racing against your fellow Roblox pals adds another dimension to this fast-paced platformer.

Oddmar is a platformer from 2019. It’s by the same developer’s of Leo’s Fortunte, another excellent platformer that spent years on this very list. Oddmar tells the story of a disgraced viking looking to redeem himself in the eyes of his village. The actual game play super smooth and enjoyable. Additionally, the game comes with 24 levels, a 3-star scoring system for replay value, and hardware controller support for play on Android TV or just on a controller. It’s not the longest game, but it’s a complete game and we felt the developer’s earned our $4.49 by the time we got to the end. See more information at apktie.

I thought Mad City was a pretty fun game which gave you a few different options with how-to play! You could be a cop and foil criminals or you could be a criminal and escape jail to go on and rob some places! There’s also heroes and villains if you want to have some super powers to play with. Since most people were playing bad guys, I found it a bit more fun to play as a cop and go around stopping people from getting away with crime. However, being a criminal is pretty fun because you’ll have to work your way through some security puzzles to obtain the loot! This game is also not pay-to-win, so I was able to just jump in and feel like I was on an even playing field. You can purchase some upgraded guns with Robux, but they aren’t necessary to enjoying your time with Mad City.
