Based on the Battle Chasers comic book series which ran during the late ’90s and into the early 2000s, Battle Chasers: Nightwar is a turn-based RPG that originally launched on console and PC a couple of years ago. But as with many mobile ports, the game actually feels most at home on the touchscreen, and as someone who doesn’t love turn-based RPGs I can’t believe how much I enjoyed playing through this when it hit the App Store over the summer. No knowledge of the comic books is necessary to enjoy the characters and story here either, and even knowing it’s a port of an existing game it’s hard not to be impressed playing a game with this amount of depth and such a high level of quality on a mobile device.
Attacking strategies are very important in “Clash of Clans.” Some are geared towards doing the maximum damage (this includes “GOWIPE,” which uses Golums, wizards, and PEKKAs) while others are more cost-effective. In the early stages of the game, using cheap attacks such as “Barch” (half barbarians, half archers) means that the maximum amount of resources can be collected verses spent on training troops. Choosing the right base — usually inactive ones with full collectors — is important, but “Barch” can be used for harder villages (as this video proves).

You won’t be able to access everything immediately, however: dingy caves need a flashlight and deeper, more open water will require extra training and better gear. Amassing underwater cash and collectibles to sell and upgrade your avatar keeps you exploring wider and farther. And, since this is a Roblox game, the MMO aspect of the platform gives you a ready-made team to mutually share tips and support. We did say it was wholesome.
